Welcome to Johnson Valley Racing
Johnson Valley Racing is a friends-and-family off-road race team built on good vibes, great people, and a shared love for the dirt. For us, racing isn’t just about the checkered flag—it’s about making memories and bringing the off-road community along for the ride. Whether you're trackside or tuning in online, we share every laugh, bump, and hard-earned success like you're part of the crew.
Who We Are
Formed in 2024 by longtime friends Ed Morin and Luke Outhyse, the team was born out of decades of friendship and a garage-built mentality. Every member plays a vital role—wrenching, managing logistics, offering moral support, and handling the behind-the-scenes shenanigans. Together, we’re not just a team—we’re a community, and we’re in it together for every mile, mishap, and moment.

Dirt, Dreams, and Family Vibes – Ed Morin’s Story
I’ve dreamed about racing since I was a kid. Off-roading was always part of my life, and after years of helping others chase the checkered flag, I knew it was finally time to start something of my own. That’s how Johnson Valley Racing was born—built from the ground up alongside my longtime friend and co-founder Luke Outhyse, and backed by the best support system you could ask for: our family and friends.

A Competitive Crew Fueled by Fun – Luke Outhyse’s Perspective
For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to race off-road. It wasn’t just a dream—it was a hope that someday, somehow, we’d line up at the starting line with our own car, built by our own hands. In 2024, we made it happen with Johnson Valley Racing, and I can’t think of a better way to do it than with family and friends who’ve been in the dirt with me for over 25 years.

Hands down, building our own race car.

Humor
Getting lost out on the KOH course… more than once.

Did that Just Happen?
Hanging off the back of the car trying to keep it from rolling over during KOH. Definitely wasn’t in the plan—but hey, it worked.
